About Air India
Air India is India’s flag airline and has its headquarters traced to New Delhi India. JRD Tata is the founder of Air India, which started operations in the year 1932. Initially, the airline was named Tata Air Services and later was renamed Tata Airlines. Tata Airlines was rebranded to Air India on 29th July 1946 after becoming a public limited company.
Air India and Indian Airlines merged in the year 2007 and the new company was called Air India Limited. The Government of India approved the privatization of Air India on 28th June 2017. Air India was sold to Talace Private Limited, which is a Tata Sons SPV, on 08th October 2021.
Air India flies to more than 100 domestic and international destinations. The airline’s international network spans 60 international destinations to cover four continents. Air India has been a member of Star Alliance since the year 2007 onwards. Air India’s frequent flyer loyalty program is Flying Returns.

You can check-in to your AI flight through the mobile app 48 hours in advance and 90 minutes before your flight departs.
