When Hainan Airlines cannot provide the scheduled carriage or the passenger wants to modify their reservation, refunds are processed on the unused portion of the ticket as per the stipulated guidelines. If you are eligible for a refund from Hainan Airlines, you should submit your application within the validity period of your ticket; otherwise, the Carrier has the right to refuse a refund.

Passengers have to also apply for a refund at the same place of ticket issuance. Hainan Airlines issues refunds in the same currency in which the ticket was purchased and as per the applicable country laws. Also, the airline makes refunds to the person mentioned in the ticket. Travellers who buy an electronic ticket have to show their valid identity card when applying for a refund.

Hainan Airlines has different policies for voluntary refunds and involuntary refunds. Where involuntary refunds are concerned, the Carrier does not collect any cancellation fee from the refund amount. For voluntary refunds, the airline makes refunds after deducting any applicable cancellation fees and service charges under your fare provisions.

Go to the Refund Application page on the Hainan Airlines website to submit your refund request online. You can speak to the airline Call Center executives to apply for a refund via phone. Contact your travel agent for a refund if you have made your flight reservation with them.
