About Icelandair Flight Cancellation

There may be times when Icelandair cancels a scheduled flight due to extraordinary circumstances. Passengers then become eligible for a refund on the unused portion of the ticket. The Carrier refunds the fare amount after deducting the non-refundable booking fee during such times.

Travellers may also want to cancel their flights in some cases due to a change in their travel plans. In such cases, you may be eligible for a refund depending on your fare type. If you have purchased your Icelandair flight ticket via the authorized booking channels, you can cancel your reservation without paying a penalty. If you purchase your ticket when the flight is at least 2 days away and cancel your Icelandair flight reservation within 24 hours of the ticket purchase, you will be entitled to a full refund. It is important to note that this rule does not apply to group bookings, including for 10 people or more.

Icelandair makes refunds after deducting the ticketing fee as per your fare regulations. Flyers can opt for cancellation protection, whereby the Carrier becomes liable to pay the entire fare if you cancel your reservation.

Access the Icelandair “My Journey” portal to cancel your booking online or you can do so via the airline mobile app. Contact your travel agent to cancel your flight when you make your reservation.
