About Icelandair Refund Policy

As per the Icelandair refund policy, the person who pays for the ticket will receive the refund. If the passenger has not purchased the ticket and there is a restriction on refund, then the person who paid for the ticket will be eligible for the refund after presenting payment proof. The Carrier issues refunds only after the ticket and unused coupons have been submitted, except in lost ticket cases.

The Icelandair refund policy varies for voluntary refunds and involuntary refunds. In cases of involuntary refunds where the airline fails to operate a scheduled flight, passengers will receive the full fare amount on the unused portion of the ticket. As far as voluntary refunds go when you cancel your Icelandair reservation, the airline processes refunds after deducting the cancellation fees and service charges as per the fare rules. Flyers are advised to submit their refund application within the validity period of the ticket; otherwise, the Carrier has the right to refuse a refund.

In normal circumstances, Icelandair initiates refunds in the same currency as the ticket purchase. Icelandair takes between 7 working days and 20 working days to process refund requests, depending on whether you paid via cash or credit card.
