About Thai Airways
Thai Airways International (trade name is THAI) is the national air carrier of Thailand and its corporate headquarters are based in Vibhavadi Rangsit Road in Chatuchak District in Bangkok. Also, the main hub and secondary hub of the airline are traced to Suvarnabhumi Airport and Phuket International Airport, respectively. THAI is also counted among the founding members of the Star Alliance, which is the largest airline alliance globally. THAI, along with its subsidiaries, covers more than 100 destinations and over 35 countries. The global network of THAI includes South/Southwest Asia, Europe, East Asia, and Oceania. Royal Orchid Plus is the frequent flyer loyalty program of Thai Airways.
THAI was set up in the year 1960 when Scandinavian Airlines and Thai Airways Company (Thailand’s domestic air carrier) entered into a joint alliance. However, on 1st April 1988, THAI merged with That Airways Company to form a single national airline.

If you want to know about the THAI policy when traveling with an infant, you can get in touch with the airline representatives. THAI allows healthy newborns to travel with an adult passenger after 7 days of their birth. Even if you’re traveling with an infant below 6 months old, you should talk to the THAI team to know how to book a bassinet seat for your little one. The airline cabin crew will provide the baby bassinet and assist you while installing it after the aircraft takes off. On the other hand, if you’re traveling with a child under 2 years old, you should reserve a seat for him/her and can bring along a certified child seat or child seat to keep them comfortable in the seat for the flight duration.
You can contact the THAI team even to know about the special meals that are served on board. Note that airline offers special meal options on international flights to travelers with special dietary needs. However, you must book your special meal at least 24 hours before flight departure. Some special meals that are available on THAI flights include vegetarian meals, gluten-free meals, low-lactose meals, seafood meals, low fat / cholesterol meals, Kosher meals, low-salt meals, among others. The airline offers this service for unaccompanied children between the ages of 5 and 11 on Economy fare flights. Also, this service is available for unaccompanied minors between the ages of 8 and 11 years only for Business Class and First Class fares. In the case of unaccompanied minors within the age range of 12 and 17 years, this service is optional. Note that this service requires the parent or guardian of the child to stay at the airport until the flight departs. Moreover, parents have to complete the check-in formalities when availing this service. As part of this service, the airline ground staff hands over the child to the cabin crew at the departure hall for boarding the aircraft. The cabin attendants take care of the child for the entire flight duration, too. In addition, after the flight lands at the destination airport, the airline ground staff accompanies the child from the aircraft and helps them complete all the arrival procedures before handing them over to the appointed guardian after verifying their identity.
