History
Park Holidays UK was set up in the year 1984 as a family-owned business; Jim Watson and Peter Bull were the leaders in establishing the business. The first park to be owned by the company was Frenchmans Beach (renamed Rye Harbour), traced to Rye in East Sussex. Later, the business expanded to include parks in Kent and East Sussex – the group came to be known as Cinque Ports Leisure. Over time, the company grew by leaps and bounds; and by the year 2011, the company acquired 11 parks from Haven Holidays. The year 2007 marks the rebranding of the company to Park Holidays UK.
The Caledonia Groups became the primary investors in the company during the year 2013. However, the Intermediate Capital Group plc (ICG) became the majority shareholder in the company in the year 2017.
